Do you like musky? Don’t you wish everyone did.
If you’re a Wisconsin resident, you can advertise your love of musky with official musky license plates on your vehicle. It’s a real conversation starter. At the same time you’ll be supporting stocking, musky research and habitat projects across the state conducted or funded by the Wisconsin Muskie Clubs Alliance. The Alliance is an umbrella organization uniting most of the musky clubs in Wisconsin. There’s almost certainly a musky club in your area, working to improve musky populations. Check www.muskyclubsalliance.org to find the club nearest you.
To get the plates you can apply in person at any DOT service center. Bring a copy of the Certificate of Registration for the vehicle(s) getting the plates. There is a one time issuance fee of $15 for the new plates. For an even more personalized plate, maybe sporting a code name for your favorite lure the cost is $15 annually. The initial issuance fee covers the plate and personalization for the first year.
A $25 donation fee is charged annually that funds the musky projects. The donation is deductible if you itemize.
If you’re within a few months of your renewal date DOT will process your regular registration at the same time.
You can also apply by mail. Go to the DOT website and find Form MV2977 under the Special Plates tab. In either case the plates will come in the mail.
Be the first in your circle of musky nuts to have the plates.
